Winter Concert Brings Music, Joy, and Festive Cheer
Our Winter Concert this year was a wonderful celebration of music, collaboration, and the power of community. We are incredibly proud of all the students who took to the stage—our performers showed real commitment, musicality, and courage, and their performances were a true highlight of the evening.
A huge thank you must go to our visiting music teachers for the passion and expertise they bring to our school. Their dedication, both in preparing students and inspiring them to perform to such a high standard, played an invaluable role in making the concert a success.
We would also like to thank our part time Music teacher, Mr Vickery, who generously gave up so much of their own time to support students in rehearsals. Their care, encouragement, and experience, meant all of their behind‑the‑scenes work contributed a great deal in helping our young musicians feel confident and prepared.
This year, we were also delighted to welcome students from Caen Community Primary School and Southmead Primary School, who performed alongside our students. Their involvement not only elevated the evening but also strengthened the ties between our schools. In addition, our thanks go to the adult community choir for joining us in performing and for collaborating with our student choir in such a joyful and uplifting way. Their presence was a beautiful reminder of the learning, support, and inspiration that flows between generations when music brings people together.
All these contributions—from our own students, our local primary schools, and members of our wider community—reflect one of our school’s core values: community. The Winter Concert demonstrated how powerful it can be when people come together with a shared purpose. Through teamwork, creativity, and mutual support, our performers created something far greater than the sum of its parts. It is moments like these that show our students the lifelong benefits of working as a community: confidence, connection, and the joy of achieving something meaningful together.
Finally, we would like to offer a very special thank you to Ryley, who will be finishing his studies with us this year. His contributions to the Expressive Arts Department over many years have been extraordinary. Whether performing in concerts and productions, showcasing his impressive musical and acting talents, or using his remarkable technical expertise to manage our stage lighting, Ryley has been an integral and much‑loved part of our performing arts community. His presence, energy, and dedication will be greatly missed.
