Weekly Parents' Newsletter

12 Sep 25

 12th September 2025

Dear families

All the students have been back in school for a full week and apart from the rain it has been a very positive week. At the end of the annual fire drill yesterday I was able to speak to the whole school together and congratulate them on a fantastic start. This week the senior team and I have observed all students in their lessons and the feedback has been extremely positive. Year 7 are settling very well, Year 10 are getting stuck into their new GCSE courses and Year 11 have come back with a great level of focus.

This week's newsletter includes a lot of information about new clubs and activities at lunch and after school. One of our core values is Character and we know that involvement in clubs and events develops students' character and the unexamined skills that are essential for future employability. We also know that secondary age students that engage in extracurricular activities both in and out of school are more likely to achieve better academically than those that do not so please take the time to look at the full school offer and encourage your children to get involved throughout the year.

I look forward to welcoming Year 7 and Year 11 parents to school next Thursday for Year 7 Meet the Tutor afternoon and Year 11 Countdown to GCSEs evening.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Mrs Bowler

Principal
