Further information for students
Dear Parents/Carers of All Year 7s
We are pleased to be able to offer free Bikeability courses again. These will run from Monday 25th January and Friday 5th February 2027.
Students MUST have completed levels 1 and 2 before accessing level 3 training. Please refer to the letter for the correct level training (links below) and apply for a place using the link in the letter.
On the day of the course, students will not be attending lessons, as they will be out on the road cycling! Students must make their way to School Reception for 08.45am and register with the instructor present. Note: the instructor will report any non-attendees to the Attendance Officer immediately.
By signing up for this course you have made a commitment. Instructors are booked in to teach you and spaces for this course are allocated and limited. You cannot do the course without a filled in Consent Form (link is in the letter in the 'How to Book' section.
Come to school in your PE kit but ensure you DRESS UP WARM, wearing appropriate cycling apparel, COAT, GLOVES and a HAT to cover your ears as needed. (A tee shirt and shorts if cold would not be enough.) If the forecast is for rain showers, also bring WATERPROOFS. Bring a rucksack with DRINK and a mid-morning SNACK. Please bring your bike and helmet with you if you can, if not we can lend you one from school. You can leave school bags in the PE office which will be locked while you are out.
Medication: You must bring any medication that you may need or as declared on your Consent Form, during the training, such as inhalers and epi-pens etc. If your form mentions that you have asthma, you must bring your inhaler, even if you think it is unlikely that you will need it.
The course is scheduled to run from 09.00 am to 12.30 pm and we will have lunch from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm. We expect to finish by 3.30 pm.
Note: we will only cancel in advance and reschedule the course in case of continuous heavy rain and/or snow/icy conditions. If this is the case, we will let you know the day before the session is due.
If you have any questions, please contact me at the PE office.
Kind regards
Miss Sayer
