We are delighted to share some wonderful news from our English department. Amelie, one of our talented Year 11 students, has had her poem I Have a Dream selected for publication in the Young Writers anthology Pen & Parchment.

Being chosen for publication is a significant achievement. Young Writers receives thousands of entries from students across the country, and only a selection are chosen for inclusion. Amelie’s success reflects not only her creativity and skill, but also her dedication to developing her voice as a writer.

Her poem, I Have a Dream, explores themes of hope, aspiration, and the power of young people to imagine the future. It’s a thoughtful and expressive piece of writing, and we are incredibly proud to see her work recognised on a national platform.

A school copy of the anthology will soon be available in our library for students to read. We hope it will inspire others to take part in future writing competitions and to continue exploring their own creative potential.

Congratulations, Amelie — this is a fantastic accomplishment, and we can’t wait to see what you write next.
