Ocean Explorers: Gorse Cutting at Woolacombe Bay

15 Oct 2024

Our Ocean Explorers group took part in an important conservation effort, cutting back gorse to help support local wildlife in Woolacombe. This initiative is part of Plastic Free North Devon’s commitment to preserving and enhancing the natural habitats in our area.

Why Gorse Cutting? Gorse, while a native plant, can become invasive and dominate landscapes, reducing biodiversity. By managing its growth, we can create a more balanced environment that supports a wider variety of plants and animals.

A huge thank you to all who participated in this vital activity. Your hard work is making a significant difference in our local environment. Let’s continue to work together to protect and nurture our natural world!

Stay tuned for more updates on our Ocean Explorers’ projects.
