Year 9 History students were lucky enough to participate in a virtual reality project with the Holocaust Education Trust to help preserve the testimonies of the last remaining survivors of the Holocaust (Shoah). Eight Year 9 students carried out interactive VR interviews with a Holocaust survivor, which has been created so that students in the future will be able to listen to survivors’ first-hand accounts and engage in interactive question-and-answer sessions, when those people are no longer around to share their experiences.
They were among the first students in the UK to carry out these VR interviews with Holocaust survivors and share their feedback to help with this incredible technology which will help to share real life accounts for years to come. Well done to Jack, Evie, Josh, Ariel, Jacob, Scarlett, Mazy, Will, and Ella for testing these resources and preparing the most obscure questions to help to perfect this technology.
