Braunton Academy is committed to maintaining an LGBT+ positive environment at all times. We are currently proud to be working towards The Rainbow Flag Award and have a thriving GSA (Gay Straight Alliance) which meets weekly. The group welcomes gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender pupils as well as friends, allies and those questioning their gender or sexual orientation. Pupils who attend the GSA can bring their lunch and enjoy an informal setting in which to discuss LGBT+ issues. We sometimes receive external visitors and speakers from outside support agencies. Staff members also attend the group and are available to offer support when necessary.
