Free School Meals
Re: Student Entitlement to Free School Meals
Some families are entitled to claim for Free School Meals. An application form is available online from the link below or a paper form is available directly from school.
families who are entitled to Free School Meals, choose not to apply. However, the school can benefit from additional funds from central government for every child who is entitled to free school meals. This additional money is then used to support our students, and in this current difficult economic climate, I am keen to maximise all resources available for our young people. It is therefore important that Parents/Carers who are entitled to free school meals, apply, even if you decide not to take advantage of the service.
Parents/Carers who receive any of the following benefits are entitled to Free School Meals:-

-
Income Support (IS)
-
Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
-
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
-
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
-
The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
-
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
-
Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
-
Universal Credit. Please call 0345 155 1019 for advice.
