We welcome Visitors from Germany
A group of seven German exchange students have arrived in Braunton just in time for our mini "heatwave". The students, along with their two teachers, Gudrun Erdmann and Manfred Wulf, are from Sandesneben Gemeinschaftsschule in Northern Germany, which is situated between Hamburg and Lübeck. This is the fourth year that this particular exchange has taken place, and it has proved to be highly successful, giving students the opportunity to put their language skills into practice and learn about another culture. The seven students are spending the week in the homes of their English partners who are all in year 9. So far they have enjoyed a Braunton BBQ and spent a day in school taking part in lessons. Still to look forward to are trips to Exeter, Clovelly, Tintagel, Lynton and Lynmouth before they fly home on Friday 27th May. Then a fortnight later Mr Barfield will be flying out to Hamburg with Braunton Academy students for the return visit.
