Hamburg Exchange visit
Year 9 students visited Hamburg, Germany from 5th to 12th November.
After a rather stressful journey involving all manner of coaches, planes, hotels, trains and automobiles we were finally met by our hosts on Friday afternoon (28 hours after departing from Braunton Academy!) 18 pupils accompanied by Mr Barfield, Mrs Hill and Mr Ludley spent an action-packed week near to the exciting Northern German city of Hamburg. Everyone stayed with a host family for the week and, after some initial apprehension, had a great time and built some lasting friendships on only the 2nd Braunton-Sandesneben exchange. Highlights included the Miniaturwunderland, the Marienkirche in Lübeck, the tons of marzipan and who could forget our famous victory in the football tournament!? We look forward to welcoming our friends from the Sandesneben community school back to Braunton in July to show them the wonderful sights and sounds of North Devon.
